Indore:
The senior-most officer in charge of a jail is not the sort of position that you'd imagine comes with fancy perks. Think again. The superintendent of the central prison in Indore has a list of assets that would make a crorepati blush.
Raids by the anti-corruption Lokayukta police have found that the officer, Purushottaom Somkunwar, owns a hotel, three houses, four shops, one restaurant, and seven plots of land.
There's more: a hostel that's rented out, three luxury cars, and 14 acres of land in other parts of Madhya Pradesh.
Six lakhs in cash was found at his homes; another 55 lakhs rest in different bank accounts.
