Pune: 3 FTII students' films selected for International Film Festival of India

Pune: Three films made by students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) have been selected for the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), to be held in Goa from November 2 to December 2.

The three films -- Motorbike (directed by Radhika Murthy), Surang (Anurag Goswami) and Shyam Raat Seher (Arunima Sharma) -- have been selected for the Indian Panorama section of IFFI.

Motorbike is about an impulsive, rebellious girl at odds with her middle-class background and her dreams and their resilience. It also talks about how she earns her way back to driving her bike again when she had taken her father's old motorbike out without his permission and wrecked it.

Surang dwells on two convicts who have escaped prison through a tunnel. As their foolproof plan hits an unexpected roadblock, the jailor and his cronies deal with the mishap in truly bureaucratic fashion.

Shyam Raat Seher is about a middle-aged actor trying to revive his fading television career by playing Lord Krishna in a pseudo-experimental play, gets a reason to escape it when his wife suddenly decides to leave him.
