Pune:
The Pune district administration on Thursday issued a show cause notice to the producers of the reality show Bigg Boss asking why shooting should not be stopped in the wake of potential law and order disturbances caused by the show.
Additional collector R K Gaikwad told reporters that he had issued the notice in his capacity as the district magistrate.
Gaikwad said the notice was issued to Endemol India Private Limited on Thursday itself as the next three days are public holidays.
According to the senior official, district superintendent of police Pratap Dighavkar had expressed concern over the law and order situation caused by the Bigg Boss shooting at their Lonavla set, 60km from Pune.
The rural SP has expressed concern following the threats issued by Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray over the presence of Pakistani celebrities Begum Nawazish Ali and Veena Malik participating in the show.
They, along with 12 other participants are lodged at the set of the reality show which could go for the next three months.
However, Dighavkar told reporters that adequate security has been provided at the studio which will be stepped up if required. He said that notices have also been served to Shiv Sainiks warning them against creating public nuisance.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena activists protested outside the Lonavla bungalow for the third day on Thursday demanding the removal of the two Pakistani citizens and Abbas Kazmi, the ex-lawyer of Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab from the show.
Sena MLA Chandrakant Mokate, Pune city unit president Nana Wadekar and corporators Sham Deshpande and Prashant Badhe were among those who raised slogans against the show.
