Pune:
The Anti-terrorism squad (ATS) arrested one more suspect for allegedly possessing 5kg hashish valued at Rs3.5 lakh on Wednesday.
The accused, Deepak alias Vasudev Kashinath Sankhe (48), of Kalyan in Mumbai was produced before the court by the ATS for seeking 10-day police custody. Yusuf Mohammad Shaikh alias Sundar Mani Pilley (48) of Mumbai is already in police custody till October 8 for allegedly possessing 1.5 kg hashish worth Rs1 crore.
Assistant public prosecutor, AV Ausekar, told the court that the involvement of Sankhe and Shaikh implies that both the suspects are deeply involved in the illegal business and the police need to arrest other accomplices involved in the case. The court granted police custody till October 11.
