Pune:
A student in Pune, Mangesh Kulkarni committed suicide by hanging himself in his flat around 5 pm on Monday.
A suicide note was discovered after Mangesh's mother returned home in the evening; he accused his friend of driving him to take such an extreme step. Kulkarni was to appear for his HSC exams externally as he had flunked last year.
"The friend has been questioned. He said he had only asked Mangesh to return Rs 70 that he borrowed," API Anand Walimbe said. "Prima facie it does not look like a reason that will drive someone to suicide."
The body was sent to Sassoon hospital for post mortem. A resident of Mahananda Society on Paud Road, Mangesh's father is an employee of a telecom firm.
