Indore: A picnic turned to tragedy for a family in Indore. Five members of a family were swept away in the waterfall at Patalpani after the water level rose suddenly due to flood caused by the recent spell of rainfall.
The family remained stuck in the middle of the water for quite some time.
According to police, the family members were taking bath under the waterfall when they were swept away due to heavy rains.
While two of them swam to safety, the other three drowned, P S Maravi, in-charge Bargauda police station said.
While the body of Chhavi (22) has been recovered, efforts are on to trace the bodies of the other two victims identified as Chandrasekhar Rathi (51), and Modika Rathi (22), he said.
Further investigations are on.
