Raipur: A teacher in Chhattisgarh paid with his life for objecting to eve-teasing of schoolgirls by a group of youngsters.
Makhan Verma was beaten up by three youths when he tried to stop them from harassing girls outside the high school where he taught, police officials said on Saturday.
The trio came on a motorcycle and passed certain remarks at the girls outside the school at Badulbaazar near in Raipur. When Verma protested, the trio badly thrashed him. He was taken to hospital, where he was declared dead, they said.
The three alleged attackers - Bharat Kure (21), Vimal Patel (20) and Amar Dhruv (21) - have been arrested, the officials added.
