A Dalit woman climbed atop a water tank in Rajasthan this morning, demanding that her rapist be arrested. Cops later reached out to her and persuaded her to come down.
The incident pertains to a rape case that was registered against Pappu Gujjar on January 16.
The woman climbed the water tank near the district collector's office demanding immediate arrest of the accused. The Dalits in the area have also expressed anger over the police not taking action against the accused.
Police officials later climbed up the tank and convinced the woman to come down. A safety net was also placed around the tower by women cops.
The woman, who is from another district, is currently in custody and the case is being investigated by a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)-level officer, the police said.
