Rajasthan University students get access to answer sheets

Jaipur: Now, students of Rajasthan University will be able to analyse the mistakes they have done in examinations as they will be able to see the answer sheets of examination(s) they have written, even if it is at a total cost of Rs1,000.

After the declaration of results, a student will not only be able to see the answer sheet but also he can get a photocopy of the answer booklet, a university official said.

The decision was taken in a meeting of Rajasthan University's Academic Council held at RU on Thursday. The meeting, which was headed by vice-chancellor AD Sawant, decided to impose a fee of Rs500 on making answer sheets available for analysis.

The university will charge another Rs500 for making a photocopy of the booklet available for the examinee. Sources in the university said that students had demanded for such an arrangement earlier and the decision has been taken because of students' pressure. Meanwhile, the council also took an important decision related to entrance test for admission to post graduate courses.

The council, in principle, agreed to introduce entrance test for admission to post graduate courses in the University of Rajasthan, said an official in the university. The council has also given in principle approval for the "exam board" for disposal of students grievances related to examinations.

At present, such exam-related grievances are disposed off at the level of the vice-chancellor. The board will comprise of deans of various departments and nominated members of the Syndicate.

For addressing different issues related to exams before the admission in MPhil and PhD, a committee of deans of various departments has been formed.

The committee would present its report within 15 days on the issues. Besides, some other decisions were also taken in the meeting related to education.
