Mumbai: A ramp outside Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's bungalow 'Mannat' in Mumbai would be demolished following complaints by BJP MP Poonam Mahajan and also by residents about chaos and traffic build-up due to it.
Authorities today said Mr Khan would be asked to remove it within seven days.
"We will be issuing him (Khan) a notice tomorrow," Additional Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Deshmukh told PTI.
Mr Mahajan, on January 29, had written a letter to Municipal Commissioner Sitaram Kunte.
"Residents of the area have long been complaining about the chaos and traffic build-up there due to the ramp," Mr Mahajan told reporters.
Her letter did not mention Mr Khan, but only said the ramp constructed by "one bungalow owner" was causing "permanent obstruction to people accessing the public road".
"The ramp is known to be used by the bungalow owner to park his private heavy motor vehicle. In view of the safety and convenience of citizens, I request you to undertake demolition of the illegal ramp," it said.
Shah Rukh Khan's bungalow is located at Bandra Bandstand.
Residents allege that the ramp prevents them from using a part of the road and blocks the way to the steps of Mount Mary Church.
