Ranchi:
Savna Lakra, Congress legislator from the Khijri constituency in Ranchi has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a Sessions Court in Ranchi, for the murder of the boyfriend of his niece, two years ago.
Others who have been sentenced to life are his driver Gopi, body guard Janak Mahato and accomplice Dinesh Lakra.
Mr Lakra has maintained his innocence and said today that he will appeal in a higher court.
The MLA did not approve of the relationship of his niece with boy Ashish. He then hatched a conspiracy to kill him and left his body in a forest.
The Sessions court had found them guilty on May 13.
