Kolkata:
Two days after allegedly being kidnapped in Domjur area of Howrah district, a class IV student was rescued by police on Monday evening.
A senior police officer said Md Irfan (9) had been reported missing outside his Domjur home from the afternoon of January 2.
While his businessman father reportedly got a ransom demand for Rs 10 lakh on his mobile phone, the police, who tracked all his calls, pleaded ignorance about any ransom demand.
Finally, a district police team pinpointed a shelter outside Howrah town and rescued Irfan this evening, he said.
Unconfirmed reports, however, claimed Irfan was rescued from a house in Khidderpore area of south-west Kolkata.
There was no immediate report about any arrest.
