Thane:
Parts of a dead body kept at the Thane civil hospital morgue were eaten by rats, it was reported on Monday.
According to relatives of Shantabi Khadke, her body was kept at the morgue in the hospital after her death on Sunday.
However, when they came to collect the body from the hospital, it was found that parts of it were eaten by rats.
Meanwhile, sources at the hospital said on condition of anonymity that the corpse was kept on the floor instead of being kept in a deep-freezer.
