Delhi:
There was a scare and alert sounded at the cargo terminal of the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Wednesday when replicas of grenade shells were found in a bag.
The bomb disposal squad was called in after the replicas were spotted during the x-ray screening of cargo brought by the postal department. These were initially thought to be real grenade shells.
Sources said the replicas were being sent to an address in UK. The local police has been informed for further action.
Cargo that contains replicas of ammunition, toy pistols etc has to be duly declared. This was not done with this shipment.
Flights are operating on schedule.
