Richard Gere attends Dalai Lama's sermon
Bodh Gaya: Buddhist spiritual leader the Dalai Lama today again had Hollywood megastar Richard Gere among his 40,000 disciples assembled here to hear his lectures.

Sitting in the front row, Gere intently listened to the teachings of the Dalai Lama who said science and technology had failed to bring peace of mind.

Gere had reached Patna on Monday without informing the state government and travelled here in a private vehicle to attend the discourses by the Tibetan spiritual leader at the Kalchakra Maidan.

A practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism, Gere reached Bodh Gaya incognito and met his teacher before leading a candlelight march with over 500 monks here on Wednesday evening to pray for peace and prosperity of the world.

The Dalai Lama lauded the 17th Karmapa Ugyen Trinail Dorje for his efforts to protect environment in Tibet.

The Dalai Lama's five-day teaching session has been organised on the occasion of the seven-day Geluk Monlam Puja at Mahabodhi Mahavihara here.
