Chandigarh:
Cold conditions continue to intensify in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh with minimum temperature recording a drop of up to two to four degree Celsius.
A few areas such as Hisar, Karnal and Ludhiana were engulfed in fog and mist, MET office said here.
Rohtak in Haryana remained the coldest place in the region at 1.9 degrees Celsius with temperature plummeting by four degrees against normal.
Ambala, Karnal, Narnaul and Bhiwani recorded a low of 4.6 C, 4.4 C, 5.5 C and 5.6 C.
However, Gurgaon and Hisar saw mercury rising by three and two degrees with the low recorded at 8.2 C and 8 C respectively.
Chandigarh recorded a low of 4.2 degrees C with mercury going down by two degrees against normal.
In Punjab, Amritsar region shivered at 3.2 C with mercury going down by one degree. Patiala and Ludhiana recorded a low of 4.5 C and 4.3 C respectively.
As per the MET forecast, the days will mainly be clear while fog and mist will engulf places of Punjab and Haryana during night and morning.
