Thane: Two motorcycle-borne men allegedly robbed Rs 50 lakhs cash from a van of a private company near Manor on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The van carrying around Rs 50 lakhs in cash, meant for the Bombay Rayon Fashion company in Boisar, was on its way from Bhayander when two men stopped it on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway near Manor and robbed the cash at gun-point and fled, they said.
The cash, being carried by three persons in the van, was meant for payment of salaries of the company's employees, they said.
A manhunt for the robbers has been launched and all the police stations around the area have been alerted, police added.
