Some unidentified persons looted Rs nine lakh from an ATM of the Punjab National Bank near Sundernagar in Mandi and later set the machine on fire.
The incident took place last night. The accused damaged the ATM, installed on the campus of a private engineering college, looted cash and then set fire to the machine, police said.
As per bank authorities, the miscreants took away Rs 9 lakh.
A case has been registered at Sundernagar police station and an employee of a private agency detained for questioning, police said.
