School boy drowns in flood waters

Puducherry: A 15-year-old student of a private school was washed away in flood waters in Bahoor commune panchayat limits, police said.

The boy went to take a bath at a spot downstream of Sitteri dam with some of his classmates yesterday, slipped in and was washed away. His friends managed to swim ashore.

All schools, including private institutions had declared a holiday yesterday on account of heavy rain.

Police said the body had not yet been traced.
