Ghaziabad:
Fearing his parents wrath, a truant school boy cooked up a story of his kidnapping after returning home, leading police to launch a hunt for the 'abductors' for two days.
11-year-old Ravi, a student of class VI, missed his school on Monday to play cricket with friends. On realizing that he had stayed in the field much beyond the school hours, he cooked up a story of his kidnapping by some bike-borne persons to save himself from his parents beating, police said on Wednesday.
He returned home in the evening and told his family that he was kidnapped and kept in a closed room, but somehow managed to escape from there.
Ravi's parents then informed Vijay Nagar police about the incident, which on questioning the boy found that he was unable to corroborate the details of the kidnapping.
Police launched a hunt for the 'kidnappers', but when they again questioned Ravi last night, he told them that he cooked up the story to save himself from his parents' anger, they said.
