Scolded for using cell phone, teen kills herself

Erode: A college girl allegedly committed suicide by setting herself ablaze here, police said today.
   
Police said the 18-year-old girl doing her first year BSc Mathematics in the Arts and Science College was reportedly scolded by her father last night for using the mobile phone for long.
   
Upset over this, she bolted her room from the inside and allegedly set herself ablaze using kerosene.
   
She sustained serious burns and succumbed at the Erode Government Headquarters Hospital today, sources said.
