Muzaffarnagar: A newly-wed woman who had allegedly poisoned five members of a family, including her husband, before fleeing away with their cash and jewellery was arrested by police at Jhinjhana town in Muzaffarnagar on Tuesday.
The incident happened at Kishanpur village here on June 30 when Santosh alias Divya, who was part of a gang that sold her as a bride to families, poisoned her husband Kalyan Singh, his parents and two others.
According to the police, Santosh had swindled three more men in a similar fashion earlier. Her previous husband was cheated of Rs 80,000 in cash and jewellery worth thousands of rupees at Dulkheri village in the district on May 23.
