Jalandhar: A man was arrested today for allegedly attempting to rape a seven-year-old girl in his shop, police said.
The incident occurred at Babu Labh Singh Nagar when the child had gone to a shop near her house to buy chocolates.
The girl's mother alleged in her complaint that the shopkeeper, Aman, lured her daughter to come along with him inside his shop and tried to rape her. But when the girl started crying, he released her, police said.
On reaching home, the victim narrated the incident to her mother after which a complaint was filed against Aman, who was later arrested.
