Mathura: Silver worth nearly Rs 3 crore was looted near Chattikara here by six armed men from a courier company's vehicle while it was enroute from Agra to Delhi airport, a senior police officer said.
Thirty-six packets of silver along with other packages were being transported by Blue Dart last night when a Bolero overtook the vehicle and forced it to stop, SSP Prem Gautam said.
Around six armed men beat the driver, cleaner and gunner conscious and left them in neighbouring Aligarh district's Khair area, he said.
Out of the 36 packets, 29 packets weighing 6 kg and 800 grams were taken by them and the remaining seven were left behind, he said.
