Spurious liquor claims 3 lives

Barasat: Three persons died and two others fell ill allegedly after consuming illicit liquor at Basirhat in North 24 Parganas district, police said on.

Giridhari Gain (45), Pranab Gain (32) and Suraj Thapa (27) along with some others had gone to attend a function at a friend's house last night, where they allegedly consumed illicit liquor.

The three started vomiting and complained of uneasiness, they said.

Giridhari, Pranab and Suraj were rushed to hospital where they died, police said, adding two others were undergoing treatment.
