Fed up of being stalked for the last two months by two unidentified people, a 43-year-old woman committed suicide at her residence in Nashik, putting an end to the torment, police said on Nashik.
Nirmala Bhaskar Shinde, a widow, who was staying with her 17-year-old nephew Roshan Pawar after her husband's death two years ago, took the extreme step on Thursday at her house in Bhimashankar Co-op Society in Bashik, they said.
The incident came to limelight when Roshan returned home and saw her hanging in a room.
For last two months, she was being allegedly stalked by two people in a car and on a motorcycle on her way back home from her workplace at a Satpur-based industrial unit, police said.
The victim was also being harassed with frequent calls on her mobile, by the stalkers, police said.
On January 2, she had lodged a written complaint against them with Satpur police station and provided them the vehicle and mobile numbers of the duo.
The family of the woman has alleged that inaction and negligence on part of the police claimed her life.
We have n't arrested anyone yet but the probe is underway, police sources added.
