Stray Jackal Captured Near Indore Airport Runway

Indore, Madhya Pradesh: A jackal strayed near the runway of Devi Ahilyabai Airport in Indore today and was captured, a forest official said.

"Eight cages have been set near the runway to trap the jackals and in one of them a jackal was seen trapped today," divisional forest officer A K Joshi told PTI.

The cages have been installed specially to trap the canine and some 15-20 jackals have been spotted in the area around the airport, he said.

An airport official said that there were at least two occasions when a jackal suddenly turned up on the runway following which, authorities approached the forest officials and obtained the cages.
