'Stuck' train hits Delhi metro lines
New Delhi: Delhi Metro services on the Central Secretariat-Jahangirpuri line were disrupted for at least an hour after a train got stuck at a busy station on Tuesday morning following a technical failure.

The train going towards Central Secretariat got stuck at Rajiv Chowk metro station at around 11:30 am after its pantograph, which provides electricity to the train, developed some technical fault.

The train could not move out of the station due to this following which Metro halting its operations on the line.

There was a delay of over 30 minutes in resuming the services.

Eye-witnesses said there was no movement of trains to Jahangirpuri and Central Secretariat sides due to this.

"I have been waiting for the services to resume for the past one hour at Kashmere Gate. We don't know what happened and there is no one to tell us," said Mala Chakrabarty, a researcher working with a leading NGO, said.

A large number of people were stuck at Rajiv Chowk and Kashmere Gate stations. These stations serve as junctions for getting into other lines.

"It has been a harrowing time. We are not allowed to the platform in Rajiv Chowk," said Samrat Gupta, a journalism student, said.
