Greater Noida:
A 18-year-old girl was today allegedly abducted in broad daylight in Greater Noida, a suburb of Delhi.
The incident reportedly occurred at 11 am when the girl, a first year college student, was going to her coaching centre on her scooter. A car suddenly pulled up near her and she was then allegedly dragged inside the vehicle.
Eyewitnesses claim there was only one man inside the car.
Her bag, books and shoes were found at the spot.
Cops say that the girl usually carried her mobile phone with her and also had a friend accompanying her to the coaching centre. Curiously, she neither took her phone along today nor had her friend with her.
The girl's father and some locals staged a protest near the scene of the incident and blocked the road for nearly 45 minutes.
Cops have now registered a case of kidnapping.
