Bangalore:
The post-mortem report of Aditya Prasad, the 23-year-old engineering student from Jharkhand, who committed suicide on Sunday, has revealed that there was no foul play.
Aditya, who was in love with Padmashri, his lecturer who is six years older than him, had hanged himself in her house at Raja Rajeshwari Nagar.
Aditya's classmate said the deceased had joined the college a year before Padmashri came. There was strong attraction between them, and a relationship ensued.
Since he was a student leader, other boys never dared to ask him about that. "Their affair was not a secret, since they were often seen together. He used to stay at her residence at BEML Layout, rather than his hostel room. They were so close that she had given her a separate key to her house," said Aditya's classmate.
Within a year of her appointment as a lecturer, she was also appointed in-charge of placements.
But Aditya wanted a say in the placements, and that created a rift between the two. It worsened, and she started avoiding him.
On Saturday, he called her several times to his room. When she did not respond, he threatened to commit suicide. Padmashri panicked, and asked him to wait.
Instead, Aditya went to Padmashri's house and hanged himself. When she reached home in the evening, she saw Aditya hanging and immediately rushed him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Yogendra Kumar, PI from Raja Rajeshwari Nagar police station, said, "His parents had alleged foul play, but we have the post-mortem report, which says that he had committed suicide.
We have recovered Padmashri's computer. We questioned her, and will be talking to her again in case of a doubt."
