Student dead, teacher to blame is free
Auraiya, Lucknow: Seven-year-old girl Akansha died after her teacher hit her in front of the entire class. This was the punishment handed out to her for not bringing her Hindi text book to school.

The headmaster, accused of beating her to death, on Friday was seen sunning himself on the roof of the very police station that he is supposed to be imprisoned in.

Akansha's classmates say the headmaster, Amar Singh Dohrey, in a fit of rage brutally assaulted Akansha. He even slapped her sister Sonia, when she tried to intervene.

Akansha's parents have registered a police complaint, with Akanksha giving them a blow by blow account of the incident.

Commenting on the incident, Akansha's mother Sarojini Devi said, "Akanksha told me about her injury in the head and how the headmaster beat her up. She gave statements to the police about how the teacher beat her up, pulled her hair and slammed her on the floor."

Aakansha's father Madan Lal said, "She became serious, first we got her treated at home, when she became critical we rushed her to the Auraiya hospital. She died en-route to the hospital".

The police have arrested Dohrey and have charged him with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

When NDTV found Dohrey sitting with his wife on the roof of the police station, he claimed he wasn't even in school that day. The accused headmaster said, "I am being falsely implicated in the case, I did not even come to the school that day."

Commenting on the incident SSP, Auraiya, Shridhar Pathak said, "When the post mortem report comes, and it becomes clear that she died due to the injuries, then we will impose harsher sections on the accused."

While Dohrey relaxes on the police station rooftop, the Auriya Police is promising action against the accused.
