Student electrocuted in college hostel room in Noida
Noida: Protests raged over a student's death at Noida's Jaypee Institute of Information Technology on Wednesday.

Rahul Dhamija a third-year B Tech student, died on campus on Tuesday night after being electrocuted by bare wires in the hostel premises.

It is said that he was shivering with tremors for fifteen long minutes and did not get any medical attention due to the lackadaisical attitude of the warden.

''There was an ambulance, but no driver. So he kept suffering for 15 minutes,'' said one student.

''A student had a car. We decided to drive him to the hospital. But the guard wouldn't let us out,'' added another student.

Angry over the entire course of event, the students questioned the facilities and infrastructure at the campus even after they paid hefty sums.

The students pay Rs 45,000 every month as fees.

''We had told the warden several times that the wire is dangerous and the college should get it fixed. But nothing was done,'' said another student.

However, to all these queries the college authorities had just one answer.

"The Warden, Mr  Pathak, has resigned,'' said J  P Gupta Dean, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology.
