Udaipur: Traffic on the Udaipur-Ahmedabad National Highway remain affected for the second day with hundreds of tribal students blocking it, demanding allotment of seats in colleges in Rajasthan's Dungarpur district.
The students are demanding allotment of seats for around two thousand candidates who have been selected for B.Ed course in the state.
Neglect to tribals by the state and Union governments have led to camping of these students on the hills of Bokhla, Maan Singh Ninama, the divisional chief of Anusuchit Jati Janjati Sangharsha Morch, said today.
The protesters on Tuesday arrived in a rally and blocked the highway at Bokhala village, 100 kms from here.
A senior Dungarpur administrator tried to pacify the agitating students by informing that the state government has sanctioned 900 seats.
However, the students demanded that all 2,000 eligible candidates from the tribal community should get admission for the said course.
Parleys are on to sort out an understanding between the administration and the agitating students.
