Jamnagar: A commercial tax inspector, who was on the verge of exposing a billing scam, allegedly committed suicide after being harassed by his senior officers, police said on Thursday.
KB Jadeja, a commercial tax inspector, consumed poison in his office here on October 8, following which he was admitted to GG Hospital, they said.
But as Jadeja's condition worsened, he was shifted to Rajkot Civil Hospital where he died on October 18, police added.
According to police, Jadeja in his suicide note said he took this extreme step because of three of his senior officers who were harassing him and threatening him to implicate in a false case.
As per the police, the suicide note said because he was on the verge of blowing lid off a multi crore billing scam, the three officers namely Assistant commissioner Anil Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner Naignkar Garg and Inspector Vijay Mehta, were harassing him.
Police said based on the suicide note, they were probing the matter and would soon decide if the three officers named in the note could be booked for abetment of suicide.
