Teacher booked for beating student

Muzaffarnagar: A college teacher was arrested and a case registered against him for allegedly beating an ill student here, police said on Wednesday.

The teacher, A K Singhal was arrested for beating up Harsh Kumar, an 11th class student on Tuesday, they said.

Following the complaint of the family members of the student, police registered a case against the teacher.

Harsh, who was down with fever was beaten up by the teacher for being late for class, they said, adding, he was later shifted to the hospital.
