
The girl, who speaks only Telugu,told railway protection force personnel (RPF) that she was Padma from thetemple town of Tirupati and had come to Kerala in search of her elder
sister. However, she said she didnot know from where and when she boarded the train, RPF sources said.
The girl, whose legs are affected bypolio, was found inside the luggage wagon after the guard heard her feeblecries at the Shornur station.
But the doors could not be openedand when the train reached Thrissur, the railway personnel managed to open thewagon door and found the girl, who was without food or water during thejourney.
RPF sources said she could not haveboarded the wagon on her own and must have been left there by someone.
She was given food and water afterwhich RPF and police started questioning her. However, the girl knew only Teluguand could not communicate much, sources said.
Thegirl has been lodged at an orphanage here and police are trying to ascertainwhereabouts of her sister and relatives at Tirupati.
