Gangtok: A state-wide alert has been issued in Sikkim for a 16-year old who is on the run after having allegedly raped a three and a half year old girl at Karek village in South Sikkim here.
The incident came to light after her parents filed a complaint with the Namchi police today.
The rape was confirmed by a medical examination today.
The accused has allegedly fled from the village.
Police said that the child was waylaid while returning home from an ICDS centre.
