The teenaged girl was found lying on the roadside near a religious place with heavy bleeding, they said.

The girl residing alongwith her mother at an old-age home in Ram Nagar had gone to attend service at the Baptist Church, YMCA in Narayanaguda.

"She left her mother in the church saying that she will be back, but at around 1 pm she was found with heavy bleeding from her private parts in the same area," a senior police officer told PTI.

"The girl was initially shifted to a clinic near the area from where she was referred to Government Maternity Hospital in Petlaburg and was being treated," the police officer said adding "a Criminal case has been registered."

"It has been confirmed that the girl was raped, but it is still not clear whether it's a case of gang rape as the victim is unable to speak as she is still not in a position to come out of the shock. Now the girl is under anaesthesia as she is undergoing treatment," he said.
