Thane:
With the arrest of four persons, all history-sheeters, police in Thane today claimed to have solved the murder case of a man, who had a criminal background.
The victim, Ganesh Sukhdeo Abhang (29), was attacked by the four with knives and blades on April 4 and his body was found dumped on a platform of Kalwa railway station, Senior Police Inspector R D Malekar said today.
Abhang was a notorious criminal and was involved in several cases of chain snatching in Thane, Kalyan and other places. He was convicted in one such offence and had come out of jail 15 days ago, police said.
After investigations police nabbed the four suspects - Ganesh Nivrutti Rakhpasare (40), Mangesh Rakhpasare (32) both residents of Bhandup, Sahadeo Vitthal Londhe (24) and Badal Sadashiv Bodke (28), residents of Kalwa and Mumbra respectively, they said, adding that all of them are history-sheeters.
The murder was the offshoot of a dispute over sharing of looted booty among them.
