Thane:
A police constable and his aide were arrested for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from a local businessman, police said today.
Constable Prakash Koli, attached to Thane Police Commissionerate, and his "assistant" Dwarkanath Shukla were trapped yesterday while accepting money from Yogesh Thakkar, who deals in chemicals, said ACB DYSP Jairaj Chapria.
The duo was arrested from a hotel in Khadakpada of Kalyan, where they had called Thakkar to give money to them.
They are booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
