Thane: Two students of an Ashram school in Thane district were today run over by an Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus, the district rural police said this evening.
PSI A K Pardesi of the Tokwade police station told PTI that the accident took place near the Tokwade Ashram school at around 11 this morning.
The MSRTC bus proceeding from Borivili to Paithan overtook a vehicle in the front and ran into the two boys, Madhukar Vilavale (16) and Ganesh Pichad (17), who were standing by the roadside.
One of them died on the spot while the other died in the hospital.
The bus driver has been arrested.
