Thane: A 55-year-old woman was stabbed by unidentified persons in the luggage compartment of a local train between Virar and Vasai stations in Thane early this morning.
Railway police identified the victim as Pangya Jana Adel, resident of Ghas in Nalla Sopara.
She boarded the first local train of the day which leaves Virar at 3.53 am and was found to have been stabbed at some point before the Vasai station.
She died on the way to the hospital, police said. Further probe is on.
