Etawah, Uttar Pradesh: Thirteen people, including 11 women, have died after they were run over by a truck in Etawah in Uttar Pradesh. Five others were also critically injured in the incident.
The mishap occurred late last night in the Baralokpur village on the the Etawah-Farukkhabad road. The victims were sitting by the roadside when the driver of the approaching truck lost control and ran over them, the police said.
Angry locals blocked traffic on the road and also refused to let the bodies be removed from the spot.
Meanwhile, the truck driver and another person have been detained in connection with the incident.
