Three arrested with stolen uranium

Mumbai: Three people have been arrested with five kilos of uranium in Navi Mumbai on the outskirts of Mumbai.

Officials at the Department of Atomic Energy say the Navi Mumbai police sent them a sample of the uranium for testing. It has reportedly been identified as "useless" or depleted uranium; it cannot be used for making explosives.

More details are awaited; the Navi Mumbai police is expected to hold a presser on the arrests this afternoon.
