When the cops raided a dilapidated house in the Gurbaks locality in Patiala, suspecting illegal drug trade, they hardly expected to find it stacked with cash. They needed a counting machine from banks and five hours to count three crore rupees they recovered from the house.
The police found notes bundled and stashed in cupboards in different parts of the house. Most of the notes recovered were in bad shape.
Police said they raided the house on a tip-off that an ayurvedic doctor, Amandeep Yogi, was selling illegal drugs. However the doctor was missing at the time of the raid, said police.
