Three persons including a four-month old boy and two women succumbed to swine flu on Thursday, taking the H1N1 death toll to 55 in Gujarat, state health officials said on Thursday.
Four-month-old Nirmal Maheshwari, Diharjben Chavda (30) both of Gujarat and one Premabai (30) from Rajasthan died on Thursday, state health officials said.
Nirmal died at the General Hospital in Bhuj, Kutch district, at 0610 hrs, while Chavda succumbed to the infection at Civil Hospital here around 0930 hours, they said.
According to health officials, Premabai was brought in from Rajashtan, and died at civil hospital this afternoon.
About 350 people have tested positive of the H1N1 virus in the state which includes Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and couple of top officials of the health ministry like ex-principal secretary (health) Ravi Saxena and Paresh Dave additional director of public health, they said.
Out of the 55 deaths in the state, 50 are from Gujarat while five belong to Rajasthan who were brought here under critical condition for treatment but could not be saved.
