Kanpur: Three students of a government polytechnic institute were booked for allegedly ragging and physically assaulting two of their juniors on Wednesday at the campus premises.
An enquiry has been initiated against Virendra Pratap, Raghavendra Pratap and Vinit Kumar, who are absconding. All the three have been suspended from the institute.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when Montu Kumar and Mahendra Verma, first year students of Post Graduate Diploma in Computers went to the computer lab. The accused hit the duo with a belt when they refused to introduce themselves, Principal D D Singh told reporters.
Kumar and Verma sustained several injuries in the attack.
