Srinagar: Three youths, who allegedly triedto abduct a teenage girl, were arrested by police outside acoaching centre in downtown Srinagar, a senior police officersaid on Wednesday.
Maharaj Gunj police station received information that the youths weretraveling in a private car, stalking a class eightstudent, police said.
The arrested youths were identified as Faisal Fayaz Darzi, a12th class student, Timber dealer Hilal Ahmad Matta andcontractor Zahoor Ahmad Matta, all residents of the interiorcity.
He said the arrested youth beat up the girl when sheresisted and later tried to abduct her with "criminalintention". However, timely intervention of the police saved thegirl, who was later handed over to her parents, police said.
