Hyderabad:
The Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh Vikalangula Cooperative Corporation (Disabled Welfare organization) S Amruthaiah was on Thursday arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials, in an alleged disproportionate assets case to the tune of Rs 8.5 crore.
ACB officials booked him after he was found to be in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of his income.
The ACB conducted searches at nine places in Hyderabad and unearthed 57 assets belonging to the Managing Director, a release said here.
The assets include 4 houses, 9 plots, agricultural lands, 6 cars including one BMW, bank balances and other financial documents. The assets were worth Rs 8.5 crore based on related documents recovered.
Amruthaiah, who was absconding when the searches were on, was later arrested and produced before Special Judge for ACB cases here and has been remanded to judicial custody till December 16, the release said.
