Trinamool, CPM workers clash in Kolkata, 10 injured
Kolkata: There have been violent clashes in Kolkata between the Trinamool Congress and CPM workers. Police have to resort to lathicharge to bring the situation in control.

Ten people were injured in the clashes, police said.

Clashes were reported in the Baghajatin area after trouble erupted between the two sides over reshuffling of a borough or municipal area in the city.

Stone pelting occurred in the clash during the elections to borough no 11 and 12 under the added area of the Kolkata Corporation.

Among the injured were Trinamool Congress leader Rupa Bachi and CPM leader Chandana Ghosh Dastidar. All have been admitted to the SSKM hospital.

The CPM alleged Trinamool supporters provoked them when they were peacefully demonstrating against the "unethical way" the elections were being conducted in both the boroughs.

The Trinamool Congress, on the other hand, claimed that police and the CPM supporters attacked them, leaving many injured.

The CPM has called a 12-hour bandh in two areas of the city on Saturday.
